At the June 4th Planning Commission meeting it was the public's understanding that the Land Development Code Amendments were to be heard by City Council on July 15th. With no mention of the LDC in the agenda for July 15th that came out this past Friday, it appears the LDC amendments will be heard at a later date. Arvada welcomes comments for items that are not on the agenda, and we still encourage everyone to attend the July 15th meeting and provide their 3 minute comments on the Land Development Code Amendments during the public comment. Your input on the record now helps for when the LDC changes come before the City Council in the near future. We will do our best to keep you updated as we hear more about a future date.
The Land Development Code (LDC) is the governing document in the city of Arvada that guides land development. As citizens, we should have a voice in what our city and communities look like where we live, work and play. Once the city changes the LDC it is extremely difficult to have input on development in our community unless a rezoning is happening so it is VERY IMPORTANT for the City Council to hear from its constituents NOW about issues of concern with the proposed LDC amendments, as many times a rezoning is not a part of a development process. The time to speak up and alert the city council of community concerns is now when the changes are being proposed.
RVC PROMOTES COMPATIBLE DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS WHY THE LDC PROPOSED CHANGES HAVE US CONCERNED - SEE OUR TOP CONCERNS AND WHY WE FEEL THEY ARE INCOMPATIBLE WITH OUR COMMUNITIES.

In 2024, the Colorado General Assembly passed several bills to address the housing crisis in Colorado, which will impact areas of the City's current Land Development Code (LDC). In January of 2025, the city began the process of amending the LDC to comply with state law but also added numerous additional changes - learn more info on the state legislation and how it affects Arvada:
